The Financial Accountant is responsible for providing financial and administrative support to ensure accurate financial operations and reports directly to the Controller.


Essential functions include, but are not limited to:

  • Perform data entry and ensure accuracy of the accounting system for accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, general ledger, and project invoicing
  • Receive and record bank deposits, checks, cash receipts, and process invoices for clients
  • Manage receivable collection activities
  • Perform day-to-day processing of accounts payable transactions
  • Assist vendors with accounts payable inquiries and distributing vendor checks
  • Calculate commission/bonus payments based on plan provisions
  • Prepare month-end journal entries
  • Assist in month-end closing process
  • Assist in preparation of monthly management reports and accompanying schedules, worksheets and narratives
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

  • Knowledge of accounting, finance, budgeting, and cost control principles including General Accepted Accounting Principles
  • Attention to detail and high level of accuracy
  • Solid verbal and written communication, technology, and analytical skills
  • Excellent customer service skills – respond promptly to customer needs
  • Team player with a willingness to pitch in as needed, possessing a positive can-do attitude, and the ability to interact well with others
  • Strong initiative and sense of urgency for meeting deadlines
  • Ability to adapt quickly and learn new tasks independently as changes occur within the business
  • Integrity to work with financial documentation and the ability to keep financial documents confidential


Required Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in accounting
  • 1+ year(s) of progressively responsible accounting experience
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience with accounting and payroll software (Sage, ADP)
