Last Week, CRi had the opportunity to sponsor and participate in the Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Midlands Bowl for Kids’ Sake event. This event serves as the premier fundraising party to say “Thank You” to the volunteers after months of hard work raising awareness and funds.
CRi Solutions team member Ben Wicks joined the Big Brothers Big Sisters organization in July of 2018 and will be celebrating his one year match-anniversary soon. “To me, being a Big Brother mentor is about being a friend to a child and investing in his future success. It’s mutually rewarding because I get to share my interests, experiences, and example & I get to receive joy and a simple perspective on life.” Wicks said.
Wicks along with members of the CRi Solutions department formed a bowling team and together set a goal to raise $1,200. To add to the fun of bowling night, a few participants got creative to entice donations, even starting a friendly competition to reach their goals. Parshav Chauhan (pictured below in the banana suit) raised money by offering to wearing a costume after $400 plus donations were met while Sean Davis proposed trick shots with the purchase of frames.
Overall the night was a success. The team surpassed their goal with $2,514 in total donations and had a great night raising money while bowling.
“I want to say a BIG “Thank You” to CRi for partnering with me in this fundraiser and to all who supported our team. I am amazed by the impact we were able to make!” – Ben Wicks
