New Year’s Eve is notorious for parties. Some may be in the comfort of a home while others could be a night out on the town. CRi’s New Year’s Eve traditions in Omaha continues with all the most popular local celebrations.

Throwing a party to celebrate the new year is a long-standing tradition. All across Omaha hotels and bars are continuing their traditions of hosting New Year’s Eve parties. With many options to choose from party-goers are sure to find a venue that fit their wants and needs. Below is a list of live performances along with other special events in the Omaha area.

Live Performances

The Slowdown located on the outskirts of The Old Market, is throwing its annual Happy Goo Year. This bash is in its 11th year of live music performed by local DJs Todd Fink and Kethro of Goo along with a live set from High Up. Admission is $20 in advance and $25 on the day of the show. VIP tickets can also be purchased and include access to the balcony, a private bar with one-cent drinks all night, and an appetizer buffet from 8-10pm.

The Waiting Room is hosting a live show featuring Secret Weapon. Located in the heart of Benson, The Waiting Room offers a night of dancing with one of Omaha’s most renowned 80’s cover bands for just $10.

Reverb Lounge is putting on its own take of a dance party. With the experimental and danceable electronic music, String Theory is taking the stage to help ring in the new year. Also located in Benson, Reverb Lounge has tickets on sale for $7.

Special Events

While many local bars found in the Old Market will be hosting parties some restaurants will have featured events as well. Blue Sushi Sake Grill is throwing the Old Market NYE party with happy hour specials from noon-4pm. A special dinner menu is set to follow happy hour. Stick around for later festivities as the second and third floors in the Sake Bombers Lounge turn into a dance floor. A DJ will be present and a champagne toast is included in the $5 cover starting at 9pm.

Looking for a party and hotel package? Z-92’s “Rock the Eve” NYE Party is back for another year at The DoubleTree by Hilton Omaha Downtown. Party with the Z-92 crew and be entertained by live performances from “Down to Here” and “Wicked Fun”. Room packages start at $239 per couple with added bonuses.

Another night to remember with a stay package is the Blue Eyes New Year’s Eve Party at Firewater Grill. This night full of party favors, island style dinner feast, champagne, live music and a hot breakfast on New Year’s Day starts at $199 per couple.

Finally, an all-inclusive experience, To the Nynes, is the Omaha Design Center’s first annual NYE event. The venue is set with a red carpet photos, extravagant food, open bar and a Las Vegas performing DJ, DJ KOR. Celebrate the night in style with a champagne toast at midnight. Tickets are on sale at $130 per person with VIP tables available. Guests can also rent a private cabana for up to 9 guests.
