Many times we are asked the question, why would we want to use a firm like Client Resources Inc. (CRi) for our IT staffing? There are so many good staffing firms out there, wouldn’t it be easier to use a general firm for all of our staffing needs?
My response to that question is that by using a firm that specializes in IT staffing you are getting that customized expertise to accommodate your hiring needs. The best IT recruiters are fully networked within the community. By specializing they are able to build a networked database of qualified candidates that trust that they are the experts in the industry. The candidates need to have confidence in the recruiter to make sure that they have the best options for getting the job done for them. When it is time for them to make the change they know who to turn to. Reputation in the community is critical to success. Candidates also need to understand the importance of not spreading themselves out to wide when it comes to working with a firm.
From the Sales/Account Management perspective a company that utilizes a specialized firm like CRi is going to gain from that same expertise. Knowing who is a good fit for each client’s specific needs is a service that is important to provide. Building trust is critical to making sure that the clients know that we understand not only the technology but the marketplace in which we are working. This industry has a reputation for a tight market when it comes to talent. There are just not enough people to fill all of the jobs available. Having confidence that the firm that you are using is going to be able to find you the talent in this type of market is also critical. Building a strong reputation in the IT community takes time and patience. CRi is a firm that has paid its dues by building a team of talented individuals position by position.
When the client is ready to hire it’s up to CRI to make sure that we have done everything necessary to build that network so that we can reach out to those who might be interested/available to make a change. The days of posting a position for a Java Developer and waiting for candidates to apply are simply gone. The process for putting together a match for a new member of a team is much more involved and complicated. If an organization has not reached out to a firm that has done its homework and specialized in the right areas they will have a much bigger challenge to build the team. There are a lot of good talented recruiters out there. Knowing that you have found an organization that you can trust is important. Being a firm that understands how important their reputation is in the market is also critical.
