We get busy. And hungry.
Here are our favorite spots in Omaha for a quick lunch.
Located in Aksarben, Freshii is close enough to the office to walk (but we don’t). Our staff loves the versatile menu, quick service and healthier alternatives. If you’re looking for a fast, guilt-free meal, Freshii is the way to go.
Is there anything better than Thai food?! Another Aksarben spot close to the office that offers great service and a huge menu. Staff suggestion: Pho and Thom Ka in the winter, Curry the rest of the time.
Recently opened in a hot new location in Mid Town Crossing, Ray’s has become famous for their award-winning wings. Their original buffalo flavor is sure to win over any wing lover. Or if you like to step outside the box, try the bourbon sriracha sauce.
We never have cocktails over lunch, but if we did, Herbe Sainte would have us covered. If food is what you’re looking for, the Crawfish Cheescake and Bread Pudding will make returning to work the hardest thing you ever do. We need to thank these guys for bringing a taste of New Orleans to Omaha.
With two locations in Dundee and Flagship Commons, Amsterdam offers great food packed with flavors of India, Africa, Turkey & Egypt. Always use the baby forks provided for the curry fries to prevent the yellow fingers from destroying your keyboard. Staff note: “Great doner and the curry fries are the best ever.”
Throw your stuff on a chair and fill up a plate. HuHot is the ultimate stop for a quick meal that leaves you satisfied and too full to drive back to work. When asked what they love about this place, one staff member replied, “It’s HuHot.” Guess that’s all we need to say about it too.
The Drover is an Omaha staple, but you may become a nocturnal animal if you stay too long. If you’re craving steak for lunch at a great price, this place will make you happy. Just be sure to put on your sunglasses before stepping outside. Staff suggestion: Whiskey Prime Rib.
If the delivery driver knows your name and order by heart, you may have a problem. The Avo-Cobb salad is a big hit in our office, and we like to put those hot peppers on literally everything. Shout out to Scott and Henry at the Aksarben location!
If you haven’t had Lighthouse before, go ahead and order a whole pizza – you’ll thank us later. Home of the 9 inch slice, Lighthouse has been serving wacky pizza combos for years. The drive thru is super convenient if you’re in a rush and craving pizza with french fries on top.
You definitely want to order off the traditional Chinese menu here. But if you’re not feeling adventurous enough to try the Kung Pao Pork Kidney with Peanuts and Peppers, you can find more familiar items like Sesame Chicken.
You could eat lunch with us too if you worked here. To browse our open positions, head over to the Jobs page.
